  • Eating Disorder Group

I am considering conducting my eating disorder support group during lunch and encouraging people to bring food. While I think that will be helpful in many ways I am also afraid that it will keep many people away.

Suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Like a kid with a new Toy, My new Panteck Matrix Pro Smartphone!!!!!

I have been struggling to get the right phone. In my usual pattern I started with something on the less expensive site, it did not even come close to what I needed. I tried the Panteck Matrix and it was almost what I needed. Finally I succumbed to the pressure and got the Panteck Matrix Pro, a smart phone with Mobile Windows 6.1  Now all I have to do is to learn how to use it.

Of course, perhaps I should not have used the word struggle. I have been having a great time working with all these fancy devises.

I am not sure just how much this obsession with electronics has affected me. It has helped me in many ways, am I blind to the disadvantages, do I want to be able to see?

It is about more than God.

I had been an atheist since about 12 or 13. That does not entirely mean I am no longer an atheist! It means that things are more complex than I thought they were and I always knew they were complex. For several years now I have considered myself to be an Unitarian Universalist. We UU's range from Christians to Wiccas, and include more than a few atheists and secular or religious humanist.

It is about our relationship with the universe, whatever it is. The universe if full of mystery, and that mystery may or may not include something that is in some way analogous to the word God. (This makes me think of a science fiction short story, The 10,000 names of God) I think the universe, whatever the mystery is deserving of respect and care. Perhaps using the word God(s) is a way to give that.

If we do not show and feel that respect, then we are not showing or feeling respect to ourselves, our fellow human beings, for we are all a part of that universe.

I hope someone reads this who has a name for it. I would love to be able to find out what others are thinking along this way.

and to all a good night.

Seems I did misread your profile, sorry about that. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which can be read simply as counselor. Either an EMT or a nurse would be a good career choice, nurses make more money however. Take care Preston

Hi Preston -- no need to thank me for adding you, I'm always up for meeting new people. :) I think you may have misread something in my profile, as I'm not studying psychology or in school right now. However, I am fascinated by the way the mind works, though I don't think I could make a career
